APC Web/SNMP Network Managment Card Firmware Update
A lot of people seamed to be interested in my german guide.
But i could see, that a lot of non german speaking visitors had a look on it, so here is the english version.
The APC Method
APC offers a firmware-update package on their website. This is intended for automatic updates. Unfortunally this update mechanism fails very often.
The DIY Method
There are two different cards out there.
- Web/SNMP Managment Card
- This is not sold anymore and support has been canceled
- latest software/firmware versions:
- AOS: 3.2.5
- SMUX: 3.2.6
- Network Managment Card
- The atest model which still gets support
- latest software/firmware versions:
- AOS: 3.6.1
- SMUX: 3.5.8
Attention:
This are different cards and they are not compatible.
UPDATE Process
- default login is apc/apc
- determine your model e.g. via web or telnet (Web_SNMP/Network).
- determine the installed Software /firmware .
- telnet > Login > 3 System > 6/7 About System.
- Here both software/firmware versions are shown.
- connect via ftp to your card and upload the latest AOS Version in binary mode.
- the card will reboot now.
- determine the installed Software /firmware .
- telnet > Login > 3 System > 6/7 About System.
- Here both software/firmware versions are shown.
- check if the AOS version got upgraded and f not retry it.
- connect via ftp to our card and upload the latest SMUX Version in binary mode.
- the card will reboot now.
- determine the installed software/firmware.
- telnet > Login > 3 System > 6/7 About System.
- Here both software/firmware versions are shown.
That's it. Now the card should have the latest software/firmware installed.
